Taking the First Step
Sometimes, we get stuck waiting for the "perfect" start, or we let mental blocks hold us back from taking action today. We wait for things to align, like the perfect sunny day, to begin. But before we know it, days pass, and that side project you’ve always wanted to start is still waiting.
Hello and welcome to my blog! I actually started something similar back in my later years at university, and I thought now would be a great time to pick it up again. As a designer, I’ve been working on bits and pieces for this blog and a website to showcase my work. But there are times when I find myself waiting for the perfect motivator or struggling to stay focused.
I’ve been hesitant to post my progress because my blog isn’t fully how I want it to be. But I realized that if I keep waiting for everything to be perfect, I’ll just keep stalling my progress. This is a personal project, and it’s okay to have placeholders for now. I can always improve and build on it later.
So here I am, taking the first step. It might not be perfect, but at least I’m moving forward. If you’re feeling stuck and struggling to take that first step, just remember: sometimes it’s better to get your foot in the door than wait for the perfect opportunity.
What’s Coming Next
I’ve been diving into Notion, using it to organize my networking CRM. I’ve met so many amazing people who’ve shared valuable insights on breaking into marketing, and I wanted to keep track of it all. I’m also building a diary/habit tracker to help me appreciate the little wins and remind myself that I’m moving forward, no matter how big or small. And I’m putting together a job application tracker that I’m planning to share once I’ve polished it. I’m excited to get it out there!
There’s also a list of things I’ve been wanting to do, like setting up a website with Google Sites. After researching the pros and cons of different platforms, I chose Google Sites for its ease of use and no upfront cost—unlike other options that lock certain features behind paywalls. While it may not have the fancy animations or graphics of tools like Figma or Caard, it’s a solid start.
Thanks for stopping by and reading! I’m excited to share this journey with you.
